Parenting & Budgeting Classes

Parenting and Household Classes

Research has shown the enormous impact that positive parenting practices can have on a child’s social, emotional, and intellectual development, particularly during the early years [NASEM], 2016). This includes a child’s enhanced sense of security, the ability to focus attention, and behavioral health.

Our Parenting Education Program is designed to help parents understand their children’s individual needs and development, as well as their own roles and responsibilities, by offering tools and strategies aimed at maximizing knowledge outcomes. The class offerings extend from fetal development through teenage years of parenting your child.

Classes for Fathers

Children whose fathers are involved with their upbringing demonstrate more positive outcomes than those with uninvolved fathers (Children & Family Research Partnership, 2016). Our Fatherhood Program focuses on the importance of paternal parenting skills, household budgeting and healthy relationships.

My counselor John listened to me and I felt at peace with every answer he gave me. I would like to learn more about spiritual health.

— LUIS

When I first came, I really did not know what to expect, especially coming in at 17 to take a pregnancy test. I was not sure on what to do. It came back positive. I got the opportunity to speak with a counselor who was very helpful with my decision. The help that is received at the Women’s Resource Medical Centers of Southern Nevada is extraordinary to a single mother. I would like to thank each and everyone that took the time to help all these women.

— JENIFER
